340 Squadron Boost RAF Association Funds

Throughout the year, cadets and staff from 340 Squadron raise money for the RAF Association (RAFA) Wings Appeal through the local Oxted and Limpsfield Branch which formally 'adopted' the Squadron in 2005.

This year, in addition to street collections in Oxted town centre and at Clacket Lane Service Area, the Squadron has conducted a number of shopping bag packing events at Morrisons in Oxted in aid of the Wings Appeal.

On Saturday 18 October 2008, six cadets and Squadron Commander, Flight Lieutenant Matt Teague, attended a dinner in Limpsfield to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the Oxted and Limpsfield Branch. During the evening, a cheque for £1,000 was presented to the principle guest, Air Marshal Philip Sturley, National President of RAFA.

Also during the evening, former Instructor Cadet Warrant Officer Matt Barnes received a certificate in recognition of his contribution to fundraising for RAFA during his Air Cadet service.

The Squadron is very proud of its association with RAFA, which carries out vital welfare work in support of the whole RAF family - veterans of past conflicts, current serving personnel and their families.

Take a look at the photos in the gallery and check out the RAFA Website.
