340 Squadron Remembers

340 Squadron cadets and staff took part in several parades on Remembrance Sunday (9 November 2008) in honour of all British service people who have made the ultimate sacrifice in the pursuit of peace and freedom.

Our day started in the morning with a parade and service at St Peter's Church in Limpsfield. The squadron marched to and from the church with members of the Royal British Legion and Royal Air Forces Association with whom we are closely connected. At 11am around the church war memorial, the Last Post sounded and Cadet Kyle Shipwright laid a wreath of poppies on behalf of the Squadron.

A second parade followed at the Royal British Legion Club at Limpsfield.

In the afternoon, we joined our local community in Edenbridge for a service and parade through the town to the war memorial at the hospital, where Cadet Belen Daly laid our wreath.

The Squadron was, as always, proud to turn-out and honour the fallen and show our support for the loved ones they have left behind.

At the going down of the sun,
And in the morning,
We will remember them.
