340 Squadron Win Charity Trophy

The hours we have spent packing shopping bags at Morrisons in Oxted and holding collection tins at Clacket Lane Service Area and in Oxted town centre this year have paid off!

340 Squadron have been named as champions in the 2008 Kent Wing ATC competition for the Royal Air Forces Association Aylesford & West Malling Branch Wings Appeal Trophy.

The Squadron has won the trophy many times in the past but narrowly lost it last year. However, our massive collection total of £2,415 this year has secured us victory and brought the splendid shield home.

We are very proud of our long connection with the Royal Air Forces Association (RAFA), having been adopted by the Oxted and Limpsfield Branch back in 2005.

RAFA provide valuable welfare support to the entire RAF family of veterans, serving personnel and their dependants. They are a very worthy cause and we urge you to support them as much as you can.

Find out more about RAFA here: RAFA website

We'll post a picture of the 'silverware' as soon as it's back at Headquarters!
