Success in National Charity Trophy Competition | Mon 19th Jan 2009 |
340 Squadron is celebrating after taking 3rd place in the Sir Douglas Bader "Wings" Appeal Trophy - the national ATC competition for raising money for the Royal Air Forces Association.
The Squadron won the Kent Wing trophy for our 2008 collection total of £2,415 and based on that success, decided to enter the national competition for the first time. Our per capita collection was £161.
The news came in a letter from Chief of Staff Air Cadets, Group Captain Malcolm Evans, in which he called our efforts "another fine example of the dedication shown by members of the Air Training Corps."
We are thrilled and proud to have come third - a great reward for all of the hard work put in by cadets and staff over the last year - and we are as always very pleased to be suppporting such a worthy cause as RAFA.
