Cadets Enjoy First Flight

On Saturday 14 March 2009, five cadets from 340 Squadron took to the air for the first time as Air Cadets, on an Air Experience Flight in a Grob Tutor aircraft at RAF Benson in Oxfordshire.

Having been briefed and kitted-out in flying suits and helmets, Cadets Chris Dale, Conor Milan, Dan Lewis, Megan Hawes and Kat Russell strapped into the cockpit and took to the skies with a highly experienced RAF pilot.

Each cadet received instruction in the basic controls of the aircraft before taking control themselves. Cadet Dan Lewis even got to experience aerobatics for the first time when his pilot performed a loop!

All of the hard work these new cadets have put in over the past six months paid off and they could put the theory of flying they have learnt into practice.
