Cadets compete at Inter-Squadron Athletics Competition

On Sunday 9th May 2010, 3 members of staff, 1 parent and seven cadets proudly went and represented 340 Squadron at the annual Wing Athletics competition. In usual fashion cadets wore their squadron t-shirts to compete in and competed in a very professional manner.

The seven cadets were competing across four age categories, 2 male and 2 female. Cdt's Johnson and Morris represented in the U15 Boys, Cdt Dale in the Under 17 Boys, Cdt's Nash H and Nash K in the U16 Girls and Cpl's Russell and Hawes in the Junior Women.

The day was a resounding success for the cadets with a total haul of 6 medals, Cdt Nash H collected a silver and 2 bronze medals, Cpl Hawes won 2 gold medals and Cdt Nash K a Bronze also.
The squadron also managed to place third in the U16 girls age category, out of a total of 31 entries, much to surprise of the Nash twins themselves and the staff.
Cpl Hawes has also been selected to represent the wing at the next stage of the competition and on everyone's behalf we wish her luck.

A thoroughly enjoyable day was had by all and we hope next year to carry on our success with a larger turnout and larger medal haul.
